Devesh Sharma Finds Success as Blog Entrepreneur

He’s just 18, but with a collection of blogs and Websites in a range of targeted niches, including BlogPreneurs and Blokube, Devesh Sharma of Jaipur, India, already considers himself a success.

Sharma is the first place winner in the BizSugar “Rock Your Biz” blogging contest for his post “42 Dazzling Tips To Rock You Business with Blogging & Social Media.”

Over the next few weeks we’ll be using some space devoted to our usual Contributor of the Week feature to get to know the winners of our contest a bit better and further welcome them to the BizSugar community.

At BlogPreneur, Sharma covers a variety of topics important to the online entrepreneur, ranging from comment policies to link building strategies to writing and business tips.

Meanwhile Blokube describes itself as a community for bloggers to “mastermind,” network, interact, and exchange ideas.

We asked what Sharma felt had given his post the edge over others in the competition.

“I wrote a post that was useful and something which both entrepreneurs and small businesses can benefit from. And I did my best to promote the post,” he replied.

And speaking of the all-important topic of promoting one’s posts, just what was Sharma’s secret that he felt helped him walk away with first prize?

Well, first he says he promoted the post diligently via all his personal social networks including Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and some niche networks, but Sharma also used e-mail signatures and mailing lists to spread the word and kept promoting the contest right up until the last day.
