More Troubleshooting for Your Small Business Community

Hello again BizSugar readers and welcome to another edition of the BizSugar blog.

Last week we discussed troubleshooting problems on BizSugar.com that may crop up from time to time, and we thought we’d deliver part two this week of our troubleshooting advice based on some problems that have come up recently with BizSugar users.

If you spot something that’s happened to you, we hope you will find this post helpful and, if you know a fellow BizSugar member who is having similar problems, feel free to share this link with them.

As always, if you run across a problem not discussed in these troubleshooting posts, please feel free to contact us and our technical team can help you resolve any difficulties you may be having.

In the meantime, here are three issues that have come up recently with members and how to go about setting them right:

  • Incorrect thumbnail image displaying with my post. This one is a fairly simple fix and usually has to do with the kind of URL you chose when adding your link to BizSugar. If, for example, you used a URL shortener like Bit.ly to shorten the length of your URL, BizSugar will pull the thumbnail image from this site rather than from your Website. To solve the problem, please use the link directly from the post you are trying to submit rather than a shortened URL created on a separate site.
  • Thumbnail shows a “forbidden” or other error message. This issue results because the thumbnail service we use may not have been able to access your site when they tried to capture the screenshot.  The solution?  Contact us and we will request that the screenshot be refreshed.  It may take a day or two, so please be patient.
  • There is spam in my BizSugar e-mail folder. BizSugar allows members to contact one another on our site via a special BizSugar message system, but your personal e-mail information is never shared with other members UNLESS you provide it on your profile, respond to an e-mail outside BizSugar using your personal account or in some other way reveal your account to another member yourself. If you receive spam from another member of the BizSugar community, especially a message asking you to e-mail them at another address outside the BizSugar site, PLEASE contact us at once with the name of the account and message. The security of your e-mail is extremely important to us. Never reveal your e-mail to any other member of the BizSugar community who you do not know and trust.

We hope these tips have been helpful. Please feel free to contact us with any other technical problems you may be having on the site. Make our small business community the best experience it can possibly be for our members.
