Susan Oakes Takes the Small Business Path @m4bmarketing

After a career in big business, Susan Oakes has taken the small business path. This week’s BizSugar Contributor of the Week, Oakes is a long-time supporter of the BizSugar community…and of small business in general.

The founder of Marketing For Business Success Pty Ltd marketed under the brand M4B Marketing, Oakes spent much of her career working for the big guys.

“Having worked in marketing all my career, primarily with multinational companies, I always wanted to have my own business,” she said.

Moving to small business, Oakes decided to stick to what she knew best, this time putting her talents and knowledge to work for the small business entrepreneur.

“As part of my career involved teaching and coaching other marketers, I believed I could do the same with small business owners to grow their brands,” she said.

Oakes said her business focuses on delivering what other small businesses need the most.

“It centers on providing programs and in the future, products, to help small business owners simplify their marketing strategies to increase their sales and profit,” she explained.

Oakes is no stranger to the BizSugar community.

“I joined BizSugar back in 2009 as a way to not only share my articles, but also to learn from others,” she said.

No sooner did she join, than membership and sharing in the community became a habit.

“Today, with so much information around, I know that BizSugar has relevant articles for small business in one place, with contributions from around the world,” Oakes said.

It is this collaborative spirit that she especially admires.

“It is a community that we can all contribute to [in order to] help each other,” Oakes said.

And the best part?

“One of the best parts has been introducing others to BizSugar and seeing them becoming part of the community,” she said.
