Woo-hoo! It’s that time again. So, please put your hands together (or better yet, give us a nice tweet, Facebook “share” or comment below) to help welcome our latest BizSugar “Contributor of the Week”, Michele Welch!
What’s that?! Still don’t know much about this “Contributor of the Week” thing we do? Well, have you come to the right place! Here’s how it works.
You see, each week, BizSugar community members just like you and Michele find or create wonderful articles on small business and share them with our friendly BizSugar community. Without you, there would be no BizSugar, but, with your help, this community provides a great resource for small business owners and entrepreneurs the world over looking for a place to find and share first class small business information and to network with other small business owners, managers and entrepreneurs just like them.
As Michele explains:
“BizSugar has been such a wonderful experience for me, for real. I’m like a kid in a candy store every time I visit the site. I’m surrounded by like-minded entrepreneurs who are up to great things in life, committed to supporting others and who are changing the world in their own way. What more can you ask for?”
We couldn’t agree more!
Michele is a great example of the kind of helpful folks you’ll find in our community.
With 15 years of corporate training and business management experience, Michele “dabbled” in a few offline ventures before launching her first major business, 4 Kids, an online store, in 2009.
But, though Michele had always had the entrepreneurial urge, she found running an e-commerce store wasn’t quite the right fit.
“I was miserable,” said Michele in a recent e-mail. “I had traded in one rat race for another. I was working 8, 12, 14 hour days in a business I wasn’t passionate about, spending little time with my kids and not enjoying my life in the process.”
Then she launched her business blog NewBizBlogger and the rest is history.
“…I soon realized the benefits of sharing my experiences and knowledge on starting and running an online business; and helping other entrepreneurs and small business owners do the same,” Michele added. “It was a complete joy for me and I had soon found my life’s passion!”
Well, it was the effort to further recognize BizSugar community members just like Michele that led us to create the BizSugar “Contributor of the Week” in the first place.
Each week we announce a new contributor on Tuesday’s blog in a profile just like this one. To be eligible, simply sign up for a free BizSugar account and start sharing great small business content either from your own blog or from quality sources on the Web and join and participate in our BizSugar Facebook community. It’s that simple.
Each Thursday we choose a contributor active in both communities and contact them for a profile interview to be run on our blog the following week.
