Imagine a network of business professionals sharing valuable information for every step in the career process.

This was the idea behind the creation of the website ManagingAmericans.com, a community where business professionals can receive feedback and get answers to their questions from a panel of experts who have “been there, done that.”

“We are a free community for business professionals seeking mentorship on leadership, management, job performance, and communication skills,” says Vice President of Business Development for the company and BizSugar Contributor of the Week Dan Woods.

Woods explains the simple idea behind ManagingAmericans.com, a place where business professionals can ask their peers about the proper path to success.

“We envision a community where professionals at all levels of their career can go and get answers to their questions and access high quality business resources, tips to improve communication skills in the workplace and improve their ability to work across various functions,” says Woods.

The community also boasts more than 1,700 business products, more than 20 professional forums, and more than 4,500 training programs all aimed at improving the performance of professionals with emphasis on leadership, communications, and more.

ManagingAmericans.com’s “about” page spells out some of the basic skills the community’s creators believe foster career success. Those skills include the ability to:

  • Communicate as a manager to mentor and motivate employees
  • Communicate as a leader influencing all levels of your organization with your message
  • Communicate with customers to build your brand
  • Communicate across departmental “silos” removing barriers for better results
  • Communicate within your team as a way of contributing and developing leadership skills
  • Communicate expectations to get the results you want

“We started this business because we are passionate about helping mentor professionals and supporting their success,” Woods explains.

For several months now, he has also been communicating with his most recently discovered commuity, BizSugar.com. So, what attracts Woods and the rest of the ManagingAmerica community to BizSugar?

“We use BizSugar because it is a great community of professionals seeking to collaborate and it offers us the ability to share some of the lessons we have learned with others,” he says.

The result? Well, we here at BizSugar consider it a win for both communities!
