To reach a wider audience and sell more of whatever product you create in business today, it is first necessary to learn the art of social media.
That’s the conclusion Cendrine Marrouat came to in 2005 after beginning her career as an independent artist.
“After self-publishing my first three books, I realized that reaching more potential readers and selling more copies would require that I educate myself on good branding and marketing practices,” Marrouat recalls.
The realization helped her embark on an adventure of self-education eventually leading to a whole new world of opportunities.
“At the time, I had no one to guide me in the right direction,” Marrouat reflects. “So, I began doing research on the Internet. This research led me to join Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and observe how others leveraged social networks to promote their products.”
By 2009, she had begun seriously networking in her new niche and was continuing her study of social media and all it entailed, reading blogs voraciously and attending Webinars to learn more.
“When I felt I had acquired sufficient knowledge, I decided to revive an old blog I had created a year earlier,” Marrouat recalls.
That blog, Creative Ramblings, is today the hub where Marrouat shares her tips and advice on social media, based on her own personal experience. And very soon after, she began receiving the incredible response that would help her launch her business.
“Quickly, I started receiving emails from readers, mostly entrepreneurs and independent artists, who were looking for someone to help them with the promotion of their websites, blogs and products,” Marrouat says. “They often mentioned that they really enjoyed my approach to life and business.”
A journalist, reviewer, blogger and author living in Canada, she focuses on helping small business owners and entrepreneurs, teaches classes in Social Media 101, and has recently published The Little Big eBook on Blogging: 40 Traffic Generation Tips, focused on helping bloggers of all experience levels with guidance on attracting their own high quality traffic.
Marrouat joined BizSugar in May 2011 and says she loves the site.
“I use BizSugar to promote my articles, discover content that is relevant to my field, and connect with like-minded individuals,” she explains. “Everything I read there is of great quality.”
